yah the 429's are better cuz the 302's are still in the windsor series motors and even the 289 is more powerful then that cuz it haz a shorter stroke. so yah i dont no if the 429's are FE's or not i think they might be in a different series but yah 429's are definatley better. i had one in my fairlane onece but it had too many problens so i cut back to a 427 i like it better. it doesnt get hot as fast. but i still ahve a huge ass radiator
