it seems extremely comical to me that yourself and SweetNeon said the exact same thing to me about being from out in the woods.

too bad this forum is for talking about cars, of which, we redneck okies have more knowledge than you little bitches who think you can 'tune' a fuel injection system. i'll bet, just a guess, i could make your del sol at least .4 faster in the quarter with 75 cents worth of resistors from the local radio shack. now who's the bitch?

you spent money for shiny goodies that probably gave you 4 total rwhp, when you could have spent $0.75 and gained 20.

now, lets cut this juvenile bullshit out (cause i'll win all day long, and you'll get laughed at, i'll get a pat on the back for making all of the members of this list laugh their asses off during a boring day at work, and you'll get nothing out of it), and talk shop! what's your car run, what have you done to it, and how much money do you have to spend? i'll STILL (after all your 4 year old comments) point you in the right direction to run quicker times on the airstrip.

lets both just cut it out and figure out how to make your car faster. period.

whatever floats his boat. some people like to talk more than they like to wrench.

Jason,
As much as I enjoyed you thrashing on Del Sol originally, the whole thing was starting to wear thin until your comment about cutting the crap and working on making him faster. That right there is what all of this should be about.
I drive a 74 Camaro LT with better than 600 foot lbs. of torque as well as 600+hp, and I turn consistent 12.8x's at the track. (Which would be consistent 12 teens or ohs, if it weren't for an open diff. and highway gearing.)
That being said, I'm friends with a bunch of import guys that are running anywhere from mid 13's to low 17's, and we can talk cars all night, for one reason. They understand V-8's, and I understand imports. They know that there's no beating massive amounts of displacement, and I know that while they might be running a fraction of the torque and hp levels that I am, they've routinely got 1,000-1,300 pounds on me.
As soon as anyone new to our group starts badmouthing muscle cars, the import guys jump on him a lot quicker than I do. Whatever you think of the next guy's ride, it comes down to a issue of mutual respect. Be straight up about what you have, and always, always look for advice on how to make it quicker and faster. You offering that kind of help to someone that, at least thus far, has done nothing to deserve it says a lot about you.

hey rat trap,

i hear ya loud and clear. i have a bit of a temper. very passive aggressive. but honestly, my main goal for being on this site is to get those two groups of people to coexist....to get the import kids to listen to the domestics when it comes to generating sheer POWER out of their engines, and get the domestics to listen to the imports when it comes to using electronics to allow serious gains in power to be done on pump gas. in my opinion, the real areas that the import crowd has acceled in are those that allow them to generate lots of power without increasing their displacement. both groups could learn a hell of a lot from each other.

it's funny, you're from atwater....i think one of the biggest areas where domestics and imports have really found middle ground is at the true old school cruise nights that happen in the central valley. it seems to me that down there the go fast attitude gets put on the back burner for a few hours just to cruise around and check out everyones ride. and DAMN y'all have some nice rides down there... from modesto to visalia, i have seen some of the gnarliest daily drivers on the planet. it's nice to see a semi-show crowd that believes in driving the cars they put so much time into.

your mary sounds a hell of a lot like my el camino. 383 stroker, highway gears (2.73), one legger. slop box behind the monster mill... 'course my elk has been out of commission for quite some time now (almost a year), and now has a 12 bolt 3.73 eaton posi w/ 800lb spring (sitting in a box, want to test the 400# first). and we put a check ball in the valve body of the th350 (it was equipped with none - to save the weak 10 bolt rear end)

as for del sol, he better get his ass back here, cause i even went out and read up on his engine specs... ;-)

oh, and by the way, i grew up in clovis and my best friend since childhood lives in visalia. i don't care what anyone says about the central valley. i've never met nicer people in my life.
