oh and i forgot to mention earlier, if i do sell my mustang, i may invest in a fox body 5.0 mustang 5 speed to toy with :-) from what i hear theyre prettty quick , and with a few mods, even better. Ive beaten one that was stock cept for exhaust once. not by a big margin but i won. others would roast me with more mods. i want one hehe

Not Necessarily. . . .

I have two friends with some pretty built stangs. Here are their mods lists.
Both have about 400-450whp. You can add how much money they've spent. Our other friend with 500whp in his Honda has spent about the same amount of money.

Ok, try this site and for those reading into every fucking word the formula is not gospel, I dont know if the HP numbers you use or switch around to get is rear wheel or flywheel and if it is "ideal" weather conditions

180HP at the Crank. 2100lb Car w/2.4 60ft.

There, no confusion.

If (big fucking IF)it is in the ball park then you have great potential with your car as it sits. I'm sure your first thing is the 11 year old tires and trying a set of slicks then working on your starting line technique. Go try some numbers, it is kind of fun to play with.

I'm sure with good tires and a 1.8 60ft, 13.99 or better is possible. Not a 13.22 though. [External Image Removed]http://www.turbofast.com.au/Drag.html

Thanks for the link.

The Car is not turbo'd. The old motor was 140hp *crank*
The new motor is 180hp *crank*

It gets over 120 here, so sissy's-yes definitly.

No, i'd think more of "genius" instead of "sissy"

I'd much rather have A/C on a 110º day then worry about the 2hp it takes away or the 20lbs... lol. . . .

Yea, but how much did that Integra cost, you forgot to figure that in. My bug was only $700, so if I invest the cost of a used up Integra then some mods I win hands down, I just wont have A/C. LOL

Were talking the price of mods .... Not the price of the car.

How about a cheap $700 CRX?

Exactly. .

It is a matter of knowing for your own good, it just depends on how serious you are about. For YOU it is a waste of time, for others it is valuble information.

But I do know. Honda tells us.

The Honda Unplugs in one min. No Mass Air, No Nitrous.

But more seriously, when you guys are making these engine swaps do you go and have the swap checked out at the local BAR station so you dont have any problems smogging them or do most places just not realize the difference? Unless I guess the valve cover says Acura instead of Honda but maybe they cant read either, lol.

Yes, you have to go BAR. But's it's very easy.

Actually he spent $5,500 for the car as it sits. It is a 13 sec car with better tires. Not 11 year old 13" wheels.

So, $5,500 for 13's isn't bad in my book. Then $3,000 more for low 12's

Nice.

ryan i was just using the 4k as an example. and as for your friends mustangs it seems that they most of their money on looks...ok imagine if every penny they spent was strictly on performance......and as to your friends car. how much did the person he bought it from how much did they spend to do all that.

You think our friends spent all the money on looks with their mustangs?

Did you not read the Mod list?

To duplicate the mods on Nick Car, you're looking @ $3,200 for the motor swap. And minute amount on other mods.

Forget the body parts. They've spent more money on Performance parts then body parts. A lot more.

How about the Honda's that come with the b18c's stock? Then what will you do? Like our friends integra running 12.7@113 w/$2,700 in modifications. THat's on street tires, 2,0 60ft.Without the Aid of Nitrous.

What are you going to do to your mustang in able to do that?

Sure, NickQ has a disadvantage because his car didn't come with a b18c from the factory. But fortunatly he has one now. Now he has the base to make 650 Wheel HP for his daily driver "IF" he want's to take it that far.

Its actually real easy to make a mustang do that. There are guys around here with just under $3,000 into mods running low 12's. S/C, gears. etc.
