OK Rx Otary I don't knwo where you get your information from but DSMs aren't unrelable cars. Just make sure you don't modifiy it stupidly and he'd be fine. YES the GSX is going to cost you plenty in insurance (2 door, turbo, all wheel drive) I know a lot of youngsters that buy a car that they just can't afford to have insurance on.

I have a 98 DSM AWD so I can testify that the cars are easy to modify, good looking, chicks dig them, etc. The car has serious drag potential (I'm shooting for 12 flat or lower by the end of spring 04).

However if you just can't afford the insurance along with the already semi-expensive car why don't you just pick up a 1st gen Eclipse (pre 95) and rebuild the engine or try to find a pre 96 civic. I'm not an expert on them but have been told that if done right you can get them fast for little money. They shouldn't run you more than about 4 or 5 thousand at most.

How fast are you looking to go? What is important to you? What cars have you researched? How much are you willing to pay on insurance each month?

decent car and cheap on insurance... well then 11 grand hmmm it seems simple to me anything 4 door maybe even a wagon or a pickup always cheaper on insurance get sometihng not so flashy to start any fast car off the blocks is gonna kick up the insurance bill......

4 door hatchback chevette pick one up for about 200 fix it up with the next 10,800$ stick a 3.8 v6 with 5 speed tranny about 1500 max then you've got 9 grand to buy a rolex and impress the hoe's yo

depends how you drive them, most have been floored, jap parts i've heard are not made as good as some of the others, but i've also heard jap cars a relieable, but it might just depend one what one you get, someone that has had alot of imports said to me, ( he's nearly had all sort of jap cars, like skyline R32 GTR's, 300ZX's, soaror's, supra's, silvia's and a 200SX thats just from memory or something round about that) anyway he said the GTR was in stuffing up all the time, and he has had alot of imports and things and the most relieable are the toyota's ( now he own a red 68 mustang conv, he says they are alot better then all the jap cars).

This is just what i've heard from other people, not sure if all is true.
