GM is definitely going out of business within the next couple of years. The only reason Im not lumping Ford into that category is because they were smart and bought shares of a bunch of other companies.

At GM's current rate unless something changes, they will go under. They better drop there useless car lines and get a good new cars out there. They need muscle cars like the Camaro and Firebird, those are cars people want. Tuners aren't really looking for products from the US market unless there something special.

The thing that they don't go into there is that Ford is moving it's assembly to Mexico. The problem is that in the Auto Industry they consider it the same if it is assembled in the US, Mexico, or Canada (it's all North American assembled), but we all know that economically it's not. The new family sedan from Ford (the Fusion) is the only one of the top family sedans (Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, and Ford) that is not built in the US. Kinda fucked up if you ask me.

The sad thing is though that Ford (an american company) is so willing to cut costs they will eliminate American jobs and give them to people in other countries but Toyota, Honda, and Hyundai are opening new plants here in the US rather than cheaper countries. So, who's really doing more for America's economy?

gm recently droped a assload more plants then that and way more jobs. so technicly ford isn't doing as bad as GM. and reason be ford is losing so much credit is because instead of people being into muscle cars ect. people turn to imports because they are "the thing" speaking of which. does anyone notice hardly nothing is made in the US JAPAN Pakistan.. doesn't anyone know who america is. jesus. as a buddy said. it's sad when we get old our gen will be like "dude you remember that bad ass honda civic with that bad ass 125 hp to the wheels"

Muscle cars are impractical, and they arent made anymore. If somebody wants a new car, they dont go buy a car from the 60's with absolutely nothing to offer but a 6.0 litre. The only reason people bought muscle cars back in the day is because they all had the same options, some were just faster than others, and nowadays, theres more to choose from, and people are going to choose the best bang for the buck, before and after purchasing a car.

Honda, Toyota, Nissan, and Hyundai are all building cars in the US, it's the "domestic" brands that are moving production out of the US. The reason that people aren't into muscle as much as they used to be is because they don't want to have to buy all the gas needed for the vehicles, it's just too damned expensive to have to fill a 25 gallon tank at 2.50 a gallon after only 275 miles.

They still make muscle cars, and those are actually the only ones that are selling well. Like the 300C with it's v8, or the Mustang GT with its v8. It's the rest of the offerings that are no good, because the domestics don't know how to make small engines that run well or little cars. If they manage that, then things would get much better for them.

If you were to compare the MSRPs feature to feature, the imports are cheaper. The thing that kills that advantage is the huge rebates that domestics offer. And the only way they will keep selling is to keep making the rebates bigger, which means less profits and then bye-bye company. And suzuki has a big following among RVers because their SUVs have a great feature for towing. You can tow a Suzuki with all four wheels on the ground without putting miles on the odo, since you aren't driving it. Almost any other vehicle has to be put on a trailer, but not suzukis
