Lol I'm not THAT obsessed with Supras. Anyways, you said you wanted an american car and, I believe Audi is Garman and Toyota is japanese. Although my knowledge about muscle is even worse than my knowledge about imports, I reccomend a 75 Barricuda? Depending what condition I think you could get one under 10 000$ Canadian.

Pre-Pinto based Mustang and drop the current Shelby motor into it. Should be a fun ride.
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we've got a full tank of gas, a half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

I like a roots type SC, no lag (which you get from both a turbo and a centrifugal SC), but turbos are much more common.

Turbos also make a disgusting amount of power, with a disgusting amount of lag (sometimes)

have u thought bout sumthing with little engine ? for example here, in my little country - Bulgaria, where the official drag races started ~2 years ago the champion now is a Ford Sierra Cosworth with 2000cc engine, yes its low weight, the owner doesnt say whats under the hood but it does 10.1s at 1/4 mile, and for the ordinary bulgarian budget thats one nice car i think. Yes we have Lambos Evos TTs Chevrolettes and other "badass cars" but this doesnt make them so good at drag...my point is that little engines accelerate faster, do u get it? even though they dont have this torque.
p.s. aaand sorry for my english

454's are hard to find but i have one. anyways i think you should go with a '64 Fairlane Thunderbolt with a 428 or a 390. That would be a fun project.
