Slick Rick Lost his life on the night of Oct 8, 2007 on 135th Street
Slick Rick and a few other bikers were on their way to a race on 135, going south down Main. They were traveling at a high rate of speed. A semi was turning around and getting positioned to back up into a business on Main. Slick Rick and a fellow bikers locked up the wheels leaving a skid mark @ a block long. Slick Rick hit the semi and went under the wheels, the bike kept going a few yards down, the other bikes got around the semi. Slick Rick had a low pulse but suffered an open wound to his abdomen and his head, he died a few min later. The Speedo on the bike was stuck at 110mph. Bruce, a fellow biker who stop to see if Slick Rick was OK. For being at the scene, he was arrested for Felony Speed Contest and Felony Manslaughter. He was not involved, just stayed to help. My God bless Slick Rick's soul.

Rick & I use to race at TI all the time. Last time he got hurt on his bike I saw him in the hospital. We talked about how important it is to have the track. In the last year Big Willie and I have been fighting city hall (Wilmington) to please let us open a track, even an 1/8th mile. We finally got an LAPD Police Chief behind us and were are still trying. My condolences to Rick's family. I met his mom & sister when he was in Harbor General a while back. For all those street racers I understand. I am still trying to get us all another track. My prayers are with you Rick.
