A half shaft is one of his axles. Since his his car has independent rear suspension he has a seperate axle for each side that can move up and down independent of the other side (not enclosed in a tube) were as a car like a '70 Caprice has a solid rear end were the axles are always straight (in a tube/housing). FWD cars use the same set up as the Jag, which creates another phenomenon (sp?) called torque steer from having unequal length axles/half shafts.

oh ok so i have that too all MN12 cars had IRS just the rear size is different depending on the Trim level and options

I hate tourque steer so much.
um I finally got that video to open. That is one of the fastest DSM I've ever seen. I'd love to know what mods he'd done.
