Does anyone know the output on these engines.
A)JDM B18C
B)SPOON SPORTS B18C
I am looking for an engine for my 00 Civic SI. Could you tell me which one would you choose or any other suggestions. Thanks

The JDM B18C Spec.R is a belt driven DOHC VTEC engine with 16 valves. It has a compression ratio of 11.1. It puts out 200ps@8000rpm (which is about 197hp, 2 more hp than it's American counterpart). Torque is 18.5kgm@7500rpm (134 ft/lbs).
I don't really know tons about it but it seems that a Spoon assembled B18C-R is going to give you about the same numbers, honestly. If you wanted though you could buy Spoon parts for the engine you have now.

Enjoy dropping tons of money whatever you decide to swap in though.

USDM B18C1
170hp @ the crank
JDM B18C (what I have)
180ps (178hp) @ the crank
approx 160whp
Both have 8000rpm RL
The spoon B18C puts out about 200hp crank, and is a very high reving motor.
H22 is a good motor, but only for all motor. It is not a good motor for boosting. They come with a good amount of HP stock (200), and are a very pretty motor. But thier size limits the amount of cars that they can be swapped into. I would not reccomend an H22.
The best all-around honda B-series motor is the JDM B18c. It is the best honda motor for boost, period. But, it is also one of the most expensive.

My civics engine a b16a2 puts out about 160 whp. So a JDM B18C put out the same so why would i want that engine? I want a engine that has the most whp but still can boost on it. Or could i swap a 00 integra type-r engine on my civc? Or is that not a good idea. I think the best motor on what i heard is the b18C-R spoon engine. (200hp at crank)

No. You do not have 160whp.
The B16a2 motor (99-00 Civic SI motor) comes stock w/ 160 CRANK hp. You will be lucky to see 150whp.
B18c 178 crank hp vs. 160 crank hp of the SI
B18c 129 fptq vs. 111 fptq of the SI
Bigger the displacement, the more possible torque you can have. Period. And the heavier the car, the more torque you want and I am assuming you drive a 99-00 SI. The heaviest civic ever made.
If you are planning on boosting, it really does not matter. Keep the 1.6. They respond to boost very well, the heads flow good, and thier cheap when you blow 'em up. And you will bolw 'em up. Only $499 for a longblock. (compared to $1200 for the GSR)
If you really want to swap, and do all motor, go w/ anything but a B16. Hell, even a fuggin LS swap would do better than your B16 all motor.
I don't see why you would want to do a swap though. Unless you are set-on going all motor.
And as far as the SPOON engine. Hahah. Keep dreaming. Yeah, they are GREAT motors. 11.3CR vs. 10.6 of the B18c. 200crhp vs. 178crhp of the B18c. Fully balanced & bluprinted, with spoon components (rings, oil pump, gaskets, ect). But is that really worth $5000 to you? And that's JUST the long block. Nothing else. When you can get an entire B18c swap (motor, tranny, harness, mounts, axles, everything), for $3000.

Agreed, he's going to pay tons of cash for minimal gains. I also say stick with the stock engine and pick up a turbo kit for a grand and a half. Not that any of the engines you or I listed weren't great, I just don't think it's worth paying that much for 50 extra ponies.

What would be a better plan.
A)Keep 00 Civic and buy turbo
B)Get a 95-98 Civic and turbo or Engine Swap
C)Save money for a 95-99 Eclipse GSX

lol, why a 95-99 eclipse? if your looking for speed buy an 89-94 eclipse gsx, much lighter and cheaper to build up into a bad ass 1/4 mile car.
