New here, dont know what im doing Posted Tue May 11, 04 11:40 AM
Hey,
I'm brand new to all of this custom stuff, so I don't know alot about what to do with my new car. I just bought a 92 eclipse gs for 400 dollars. The guy I bought it from had it sitting in his yard for 2 years because he blew the engine. I looked around and found a used talon 2.0 liter engine and had it put in and it runs great! Everything in the car is stock except for the steering weel. The guy I bought it from put in a wheel with nos buttons on it, but I think I'm gunna use them for a horn. So my question is, what do I do next? I would rather work on getting the performance up first but I do want it to look good, what should I spend my money on? By the way I'm a broke ass college student so I cant go get everything at one.

You need to go do your own research, the best site for you to do this is www.dsmtuner.com but search threads before you start askin questions because they are quick to boot noobs. after this check out www.dsmtrader.com for buying the stuff. any questions im or email me.

Im just going by my principals here.... but if the car runs fine, start on the outside, body kits, wheels etc, then go to simple hp boosts (muffler, cold air intake and so on), then do bolt ons, and then start on the interior. (Im not one for interior work, so i just put it last)

Normally I would agree with that concept but personally I try and keep the interior in good shape as well so that people will want to ride in it just as much as drool over the out side
a trashed inside and a lovely outside cause some to only want to be on the outside *shrugs* just my way at looking at it
Maybe you can clean it up real nice and as the money comes up get minor things first to boost performance when you need it

LOL its a 1st gen.... fuck the interior and exterior... if those are at least ok.... DOMINATE.... I say since its an auto drop a torque converter in it, rims 4 sure, make sure brakes are up to par, install a nice turbo and intercooler, then build up your 4g63. the turbo setup will be real cheap because u can start with a stock gs-t setup, lookin at like 600$ if u find it at the right place... bolt up yourself if your the hands on kindve guy.
Those cars look teh secksy stock body, no kit! stock wing! silver rims not chrome! no altezzas! btw did u check them sites?

hey, your in collage right? lol, better save your money, you'll need it. for me, i would start with some simple engine mods, then exterior, a bit of touch ups on the interior, n just do everything slowly, but hey, thats just me, lol

oh, and there are probaly some things you can remove from the engine to increase performance and some useless things that you can remove as well to lighten up your ride

Body kits? No offense to those sporting them who have the power to back it up, but since when was streetracing about looking pretty before winning races?
Fuck looking nice, its a 1g eclipse how "nice" is it ever going to look? Make it fast! Pick up a new engine, make sure it's the turbo version and bolt up some upgrades and you'll be alot happier with your ride. You could probably get alot done with only $1500 to spend including the price of the engine.

Engine get your engine running good and get it set up. Time the turbo and move the blow off valve from the intake to a seperate source so you can hear it outside in stead of it going back into the intake. Build the motor, then do everything else.
