Is it possible to do a 2JZ-GTE motor swap into a 2G eclipse?

nothing is impossible, but that's pretty close to impossible. Clearance issues are one thing. If you could get the inline 6 in the 2g frame somehow, it's still configured for RWD, you would need a custom tranny in order to make the engine work at all. And it's Toyota to Mitsu..wiring would be a bitch. Can't be done. It would be better to just build the 4G63....

Possible, but very, very expensive and time consuming. Do you have an extra $50k or so lying around? Because if you can't do most of the work and fabbing yourself, it will be that expensive.

You know what the real dividing line here is...I do. And I can't really describe it in words, but I can tell you how to see it for yourself.

Go spend the money on a 2JZ-GTE, build the living bejeezus out of it. Then put it on a stand in your garage. Then ask "what do I want to put this in?" I'll guarantee you'll stuff it into a supra of some flavor just to put your foot into it, NOW! Take your projects one step at a time (even if you think them out this way), and the right thing to do will be obvious. Why spend two or three years on a project to drive it for one when you could spend six months on it and drive it for three and a half years???

There are some around with 7mgte's, but I've yet to see a US spec (older) one with the 2jzgte, now the newer, JDM cars, those might have em from the factory. Plus the cars are pretty. Little, japanese M killers. I do love forced induction.

Instead of putting a Supra motor in (which is sorta stupid) why dont you just build the motor up (and if it isnt turbo, then turbo it) you can do a lot with all the money you would have to pay for one of those motors, believe me, they arent cheap.

I don't think 7mgte's are that uncommon or hard to find. I doubt they are cheap, but unless you want to tear open the block on the 7mge and put in lower compression internals and then scavenge parts off of a 7mgte, I don't think it would be the best motor to build up. Cressidas are pretty bad ass though, too bad the camry went fwd.

I had to drive a cressida from LA to fontana once, was pretty cool, it had the air conditioner buttons that would come out after pushing a button, was cool.
