Only on the initial launch, but once you are going you are up in the higher rpm range and out of your tq range. F1, indy all have very high hp and very low tq. So a 500 hp 200tq car would be way faster then a 200hp 500tq car.

the only reason indy cars have high hp is because they dont need much tq to propel their light cars in their case more tq wouldnt make a difference and they have high hp because they need to sustain a high speed for a longer time rather than a 1/4 or 1/8 drag car

When you don’t think that a 450 hp difference makes a difference, that makes me laugh at how stupid you are.

So you think a high tq would be better then a high hp car for acceleration? So why don’t we see diesels replacing top fuel dragsters? A typical diesel engine will have very high torque and lower hp, a scenario that you seem to think is the most important.

If we look at the Mercedes-Benz and compare the E series, E320 (diesel) to the E350 (gas) we get…

E320 208hp – 388tq 0-60 6.6
E350 268hp – 258tq 0-60 6.5

So how could it be that a car that has 60 more hp but 130 LESS torque have better acceleration? Could it be that you are an idiot that doesn’t know what your talking about?
